Biography

please find below the links to my mixes posted on beatspro. i'm primarily a progressive house dj but i like to experiment. if you have anything at all to say about a mix, please do. feedback is welcome and appreciated.

PROGRESSIVE

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 1 - the first of the series. where it all began way back in 2000. i'd been djing for a few years before i ever started knocking out mixes for mates. unlike later mixes in the series i managed to keep hold of a copy of this for myself. now i'm sharing it with you.

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 11 - inspired by the progressive music coming out of holland. a nice mix of deep sounds. great played quiet through your cans, better played loud on a big system.

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 12 - this time it's those crazy greeks! technically i think it's my best mix on beatspro. if you like progressive, i'm sure you'll like this.

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 13 - deepeer, darker, breakier. maybe self indulgent at times but a very worthy member of the educational thoughts family.

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 14 - a mix in 2 parts. not literally of course. the start is a nod to the sounds i was hearing at of shindig at the time. what a fantastic club. 1/2 way through it reverts back to "my sound".

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 15 - a deep, dark and dirty affair slightly influenced by my recent forrays into electro. some complex mixes (for me) and interesting track selections. not for the faint hearted. (DO NOT LISTEN IF YOU ARE TOO F**KED UP - unless of course you like that kind of thing)

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS LIVE PART 2 - another 2 hour (and a little bit more) mix of some fantastic progressive house tunes. a little bit tech, a little electro but all quality. a great addition to the educational thoughts series.

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS LIVE PART 3 - the 3rd live installment sees the birth of morphogenic house music. an eclectic blend of progressive and electro where the 2 styles sit side by side in unexpected harmony, the transitions creating new sounds and the intricate beat matching, a new groove. what fun!

ELECTRO

ELECTROCITY - my 1st electro mix. not a bad effort but i know i can do better.

TWISTED ELECTRO - better, much better. little noises going off in your head left, right, and centre. crank it up.

BREAKS

KILLER BREAKS - i am not a funky/electro breaks dj but oh how i wish i was. it's maybe a bit all over the shop but party, party, party.

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS LIVE - a live 2 hour internet radio set which starts with progressive breaks before moving on to progressive house. having 2 hours to spin allowed me to play a complete set, taking the listeners on a journey. i really do feel that it has a start, a middle and an end. i had the opportunity to air some dedications, some old favourites and some new tunes, and i am more than chuffed with the result. i hope you like it as much as i do. NOTE this is not completely a breaks mix.

CHILL/ALTERNATIVE

SOMETHING DIFFERENT VOL. 1 - mix i did for my mates bar. you'll know nearly all, if not all the songs, but will you know these mixes? and would you ever have believed they could be mixed like this?

SOMETHING DIFFERENT VOL. 2 - kick back, take off your shoes, relax, roll one, make babies. it's your shout.

HOUSE

EDUCATIONAL THOUGHTS FOR DISASTROUS MINDS PART 7 - a lost mix found again. a housey number live from what was my leaving party from a the house i used to rent a room in. good memories and glad i found it. a few "live f**k ups" but hey! some big tunes from the day featured.

A RETRO MIX - a mix of some old favourites and all time classics. feeling nostalgic? give this a listen. Warning Shamen track included!!!

POP/DANCE

A MIX FOR MATHILDE - not to be taken too seriously. an 80 minute mix of pop remixes. more than listenable but not really an example of what i do.
